Summer fun comes to and end….but the gigs continue

Friday, September 13th, 2013

ruddingWow! What a great summer we’ve had. The last few months have been so busy we’ve barely had time to update this page. Recent weeks have seen us play all over the UK, including Yorkshire, Berkshire, Cheshire, Buckinghamshire and Lancashire. All the weddings we’ve played in recent weeks have been so much fun and the dance floors have been full all night.

The gigs dont stop at the end of Summer though. On Tuesday we make the long trip up to Edinburgh for a corporate gig which we’re looking forward to – going to be a late one though, a 10pm soundcheck and a midnight stage time. Should be fun :-)

Keep checking back for more information on The Beat Collective, with more photos and videos to be added very soon.

Busy Month for The Beat Collective

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

Its been another busy month for The Beat Collective. As well as being at the height of the wedding season, we’re also in party season; in recent weeks we’ve played RAF and Army Summer Balls, School and University leavers balls, and even a Wild West Themed Summer Party.

Four our Wild West Themed party, we were asked to learn a set of country and western songs for the patrons to dance to. Don’t forget, The Beat Collective will take on board any request and always strive to make your event as successful as possible. Some photos of the terrific evening are included below. The RAF boys know how to party hard, and the fine people at 4th Coming Events helped put on a terrific show, including magicians, a Mariachi band and a DJ.

Another busy weekend lies ahead with a couple of weddings to play to. First dances have been learned and we cant wait to make the relatively short trips to York and Cleveland. We’re also starting to receive a fair few bookings for 2014 so get your enquiries in ASAP. Don’t forget to check out our new demos, which can be played via the Media icon at the right hand side of every page on the website; just hit the arrow to move onto the next track.

The Beat Collective Enjoy Edinburgh

Monday, June 10th, 2013

edinburghThe Beat Collective took the long trip up from Leeds to Edinburgh on Thursday. We were playing the Summer Ball at the Draghorn Barracks. A fantastic night was had by all, with great food, drink and entertainment on all evening. The Beat Collective shared the stage with professional regurgitator Stevie Starr or Britains Got Talent fame, who went on to swallow and regurgitate an array of outrageous items. A fantastic night was had by all. We all felt tired afterwards though, as we were booked to provide our Ipod disco service until 2am. Those Scots know how to party.

The weekends gigging was concluded in Blackpool, where we played a surprise birthday party at the Hilton Hotel on Saturday. We now look forward to a good rest this week before another busy schedule of gigs next weekend.

Shropshire Success for The Beat Collective

Sunday, June 2nd, 2013

philThe beautiful surroundings of Delbury Hall was the setting for last nights gig. Once again, The Beat Collective had the dance floor filled for three sets and were privileged to play to a great and boisterous crowd. The first dance of At Last by Etta James encouraged the revellers to join the happy couple, where they stayed all night, showing great enthusiasm to our set including our classic 60′s medley and particularly Rolling in the Deep by Adele.

We were particularly pleased to sample as many of the 14 different wedding cakes as we could; the couple opting for asking their guests to bake and enter a cake into a mini competition rather than just the traditional wedding cake. We thought this was a great touch. Our personal favourite was the Rainbow Cake that came in a deserved second place to the winning Farmyard Cake.

We tried to take a photo for this blog but the evidence had already been eaten by this point.

Congratulations to the happy couple on organising such a fun and beautiful wedding.

Two Great Weddings

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

wessonweddingAnother busy weekend for The Beat Collective culminated at Gisborough Hall in the North East on Sunday evening, following their epic 3 Hour set on Saturday night at Alfreton Hall. The trip to Derbyshire was met with Rapturous applause, with Groom Alex Wesson saying ‘Thanks Beat Collective for a fantastic Wedding, you made the night’. Here’s a photo of the packed dance floor raising the groom to our encore, Mr Brightside.

Gisborough Hall was equally fun to play, and was such a beautiful venue. We highly recommend both Alfreton Hall and Gisborough Hall to any engaged couples looking for a well organised wedding in picturesque surroundings.

Another busy week lies ahead for us. We will be in Shropshire at the weekend, whilst also awaiting the first mix of our new demo. Watch this space

Charity Ball a success

Monday, May 13th, 2013

charity ball photoLast week The Beat Collective were honoured to play at the Queens Hotel in our home base of Leeds. The Friends of Lucy Mai Charity Ball took place in the huge Ball Room of the Hotel, and was host to over 300 guests. We’re happy to say it was an absolute success, and we were delighted to have the dance floor filled from start to finish (see photo)

The Beat Collective were thrilled to be asked back for next years event. We look forward to meeting the Emmerdale cast once more, who warmed the guests up with a fine selection of popular covers.

Congratulations to all involved in organising such a successful event.
