October 10th, 2013

andy at the aqua 2013 event at telford internationl centre for the beat collective

Last night The Beat Collective performed at the Aqua 2013 event at the Telford International Centre in Shropshire. Yorkshires finest function band provided the music to over 600 guests at the huge centre. It was the first time a band had been asked to play at the event, and the organisers were delighted to see the dance floor packed with clients. The Aqua 2013 event is the UKs largest water gardening, aquatics reptiles trade event, and we at The Beat Collective were thrilled to be chosen to play for them. Here’s a picture of guitarist Andy in front of the stage, and the vast room we entertained all night. More from us after the weekend, where we’ll be back to playing for wedding guests. Time to learn the first dance i’d say!

Weddings in Yorkshire for The Beat Collective

September 25th, 2013

wedding band the beat collective play a superb wedding in yorkshireThe Beat Collective returned from their trip to Edinburgh during the week, back to good old Yorkshire for another weekend of weddings. Once again, our additional brass line up was called upon, and they did a fantastic job supporting us, with the guests dancing from start to finish. We’ve recently added a few new tunes to the set, including American Boy, Get Lucky, We Found Love, and Come Together. All four have been floor fillers and we look forward to including them in our set again in the future.

Don’t forget, The Beat Collective always tailor your wedding or event to suit you. If you want to see certain songs added or dropped from the set, all you have to do is ask.

The Beat Collective Wow Audience at Edinburgh Sherlock Event

September 25th, 2013

the beat collective take a break from being a wedding band to play a corporate event in edinburghThe Beat collective took a break from weddings during the week and made the long trip up to Edinburgh, where we entertained some clients from Germany at the Grand Sheraton Hotel. The performance capped off a 3 day event at the hotel, which saw the room we performed in over see a number of ‘costume changes’, including a Braveheart, James Bond and finally a Sherlock Holmes theme.

As you can see from the photo, our stage was fully kitted out in Sherlock Holmes style, with The Beat Collective playing between real trees on the streets of Baker Street. The entire room was kitted out in this way, and the revellers were dancing all night to our set of classic and modern hits. Check out the panoramic image below (click on image for a larger view) to see the room in its entirety.

Specsavers Revellers Party All Night

September 16th, 2013

the beat collective play specsavers coorporate gig in yorkshireThe Beat Collective have once again been busy this weekend. No weddings to speak of on this occasion, we were asked to play an event for Specsavers. We love playing these kind of events, particularly as the client chose the option of our extra Brass musicians for the evening. Suffice the say the event was a storming success, and we would be delighted to play for them at next years event after such positive feedback.

A trip to Edinburgh awaits us now, followed by another jam packed weekend, this time back on the wedding scene. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates. Newcomers to the site, don’t forget you can drop us a line via the contact page, where we will respond to any question or enquiry.

Summer fun comes to and end….but the gigs continue

September 13th, 2013

ruddingWow! What a great summer we’ve had. The last few months have been so busy we’ve barely had time to update this page. Recent weeks have seen us play all over the UK, including Yorkshire, Berkshire, Cheshire, Buckinghamshire and Lancashire. All the weddings we’ve played in recent weeks have been so much fun and the dance floors have been full all night.

The gigs dont stop at the end of Summer though. On Tuesday we make the long trip up to Edinburgh for a corporate gig which we’re looking forward to – going to be a late one though, a 10pm soundcheck and a midnight stage time. Should be fun :-)

Keep checking back for more information on The Beat Collective, with more photos and videos to be added very soon.

Wedding Season continues for The Beat Collective

August 22nd, 2013

Wedding and Function Band The Beat Collective playing the first dance for a recent wedding in yorkkshireIts been another busy couple of weeks for The Beat Collective as the wedding and function season continues. We’ve been up and down the country in recent months, but in recent weeks we’ve mainly been in the north, Yorkshire and Cheshire to be more accurate. The photo on the left is of the lovely Bride Rebecca dancing with her new husband to Stand By Me, by Ben E King. Remember, when you book The Beat Collective for your wedding, we will learn your first dance free of charge, and iPod disco is included in the price. It was another top notch wedding with some superb dancing from the guests from start to finish; it was so energetic that Andy and Phil made their way out onto the dance floor to join the guests. Superb fun!

In the next few weeks we’ll be learning a few new tunes and freshening up the set a little bit, including some classics and a few modern hits. Looking forward to it.

Saab Enthusiasts Dance The Night Away

August 5th, 2013

The Beat Collective enjoy a weekend of weddings and a Saab function at Wicksteed Park A room full of European Saab enthusiasts (pictured left, click for a large panoramic image), and weddings in Ilkley and Harrogate were the scene of this weekends gigs. As usual, The Beat Collective enjoyed three fantastic events, each different in their own way. It was fun to play at Wicksteed Park in Kettering for the first time and we hope to return there one day. Thanks to Danny for looking after us all and making sure the evening ran smoothly.

As one of the UK’s leading wedding and function bands, The Beat Collective are always looking to improve both our sound and our image, particularly to please the clients demands. In recent months we have played many weddings, turning up suited and booted in our finest attire. Yet some clients prefer the more laid back approach – for our Western themed gig we all dressed up as Cowboys (and Cowgirl of course), and for the younger bride and groom, we have been asked to dress ‘smart casual’; our standard shoes, shirts and ties but with a slightly more relaxed approach by wearing dark jeans. Remember, its your event, and we will always go that extra mile to make your evening go the way you want it to.

Another weekend of weddings lies ahead for The Beat Collective, starting with a trip over to Cheshire.

Its been another busy few weeks for us. However, outside of plaing for The Beat Collective, theres been a wedding of our own to shout about; our drummer Tom recently got married to the lovely Leanne, and they are now on their honeymoon in America. As a wedding drummer of many years, Tom knew exactly what makes a wedding run smoothly, and they put on a superb day. Massive congratulations to Tom and Leanne. Busy Summer Season Continues For The Beat Collective

July 24th, 2013

Last weekend, The Beat Collective played two fantastic weddings at two lovely venues. We’ve been spoilt of late with the superb surroundings and energetic crowds we’ve been playing to, and this was the case at both the Marriot Hotel in York and again up in Cleveland last weekend. We were delighted to receive such positive feedback from our clients.

Here’s hoping for more of the same this weekend – The Beat Collective will be playing in Buckinghamshire, before making the trip further north to The Lake District, including additional brass band. Don’t forget, we always tailor your gig to suit you, so if you want additional sax, trumpets, or even vocalists to add to your event, please let us know.

Have a great weekend!!

Busy Month for The Beat Collective

July 17th, 2013

Its been another busy month for The Beat Collective. As well as being at the height of the wedding season, we’re also in party season; in recent weeks we’ve played RAF and Army Summer Balls, School and University leavers balls, and even a Wild West Themed Summer Party.

Four our Wild West Themed party, we were asked to learn a set of country and western songs for the patrons to dance to. Don’t forget, The Beat Collective will take on board any request and always strive to make your event as successful as possible. Some photos of the terrific evening are included below. The RAF boys know how to party hard, and the fine people at 4th Coming Events helped put on a terrific show, including magicians, a Mariachi band and a DJ.

Another busy weekend lies ahead with a couple of weddings to play to. First dances have been learned and we cant wait to make the relatively short trips to York and Cleveland. We’re also starting to receive a fair few bookings for 2014 so get your enquiries in ASAP. Don’t forget to check out our new demos, which can be played via the Media icon at the right hand side of every page on the website; just hit the arrow to move onto the next track.
